Spring Conference Recap

SPRING CONFERENCE PLANNING COMMITTEE

A special thank you is extended to Dan Harsh (Energy Systems Group) and Evan Howe (Baystone Financial) for their leadership and organization of this year’s Spring Conference. Without them the many enjoyable, informative and sometime controversial subject matter would not have made Baltimore such a great success. Supporting Dan and Evan in this task were a group of planning committee members that brought an incredible group of speakers and panelists to our conference. They are: Adam Bergonzi - MBIA Insurance Corporation; H. David Cutlip - Comvest Ltd.; George W. Day, III - Old National Bank; Eric S. Hoffmann - Moody's Investors Service; Bruce H. Jurist - Blank Rome Comisky & McCauley LLP; Linda L. Offutt - SunTrust Leasing Corporation; Debra Saunders - Ambac Assurance Corporation; Toni I. Stegeman - Gilmore & Bell, PC

Again, many thanks to the volunteer committee members for an incredible program of events. On behalf of the entire association and our Baltimore conference attendees thank you for a job well done.

You may have missed the 2002 AGL&F Spring Conference in Baltimore, May 1-3. If you attended, thank you and we are sure you came away from Baltimore with a great deal of new information, contacts and a refreshed sense of the importance of our association. Back to Basics in Baltimore was kicked off with our Keynote Speaker – The Honorable Kurt Schmoke, Former Mayor of Baltimore. Under the leadership of Schmoke, Baltimore revitalized its inner harbor and the surrounding environs – much of which was accomplished with municipal bonds and leases.

The association spent Thursday evening in the Jim Palmer and Frank Robinson Suites in left field of Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Over 150 attendees enjoyed an evening of baseball and networking as the Baltimore Orioles took on the Kansas City Royals.
